Everyone is joining the mama club these days and I just LOVE IT! Have alllllll the babies, then post tons of pictures so I can ooh and ahh at all the chubby cheeks and leg rolls. After having a boy and a girl, I think it’s safe to say we are done-zo. As much as we love kids, we’ve got the best of both worlds and we love our little family just the way it is. So when I find out any of my friends are pregnant, I’m thrilled. My oldest is quickly approaching 3 and if you want cuddles from him, you’ll have to literally strap him down. Even though my youngest is 6 months and still in the “cuddle me all day and don’t you dare think about putting me down and walking away” phase, I know this passes way too quickly. Just lemme have all the baby cuddles please.
As all of us mamas know, pregnancy is rough in one way or another. Whether it’s morning sickness, hating foods you once adored or just being totally uncomfortable, we’ve all been there at one point. When a close friend told me she was pregnant, I ran out to create this basket for her because 1) I love creating and giving gifts and 2) how awesome would it be to receive this basket full of goodies?! It’s a small, simple basket but packed full of relaxation and deliciousness.
So let’s talk snacks. I was going to go with simple saltines because you can’t go wrong with those – they’re great with nausea and sit well on the stomach. But I just COULD NOT pass up these Goldfish. They’re plain so I didn’t go crazy with the flavoring but they’re BABY Goldfish. Is that not the cutest, most fitting thing ever? And am I the only that gets this excited about snacks? Probably… I threw in the Hershey’s with almonds because most pregnant people I have known and know, myself included, go goo-goo over chocolate.
To help with nausea and morning sickness, I included the peppermints and Earth Mama Organic Morning Wellness Tea. Peppermints are wonderful for nausea around the house and on the go and the Earth Mama tea is warm and relaxing, perfect for those days that seem to drag out. This brand carries a lot of other awesome teas like Stress Less Tea , Heartburn Tea, and even a Third Trimester Tea.
Coming in strong for the relaxation is Village Naturals Aches and Pains Nighttime Relief Mineral Bath Soak (one of my ALL time FAVES!) and Stress Relief Aromatherapy Lotion, which I used nightly with my first pregnancy on my swollen legs and ankles after two 16 HOUR shifts. 16 HOURSSS! And I just had to include Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion For Stretch Marks because even though some people don’t have to worry about that, not every lady has the same skin so a little moisturizing wouldn’t hurt, right?
And I don’t know about y’all but I was 56 types of DRY when I was pregnant. Itchy, dry skin (I about drove Corey mad with my leg scratching at night) and super dry lips, hence the Chapstick. As for the medicinal side of things, I added Tums (Smoothie flavored isn’t as gross as the others but if ya got the acid reflux and heart burn, it’s bearable) and one of the ONLY things we can take while pregnant, Tylenol.
And that, my friends, is my pregnancy basket! But everyone has different tastes and ideas so I want to hear yours!
Would you add anything? How would you make YOUR basket?
